Binaytara Research Awards

Overview

Binaytara Research Awards support early-career investigators with innovative ideas that can meaningfully improve cancer care. The awards follow a competitive, two-step process that culminates in Binaytara’s signature Impact Pitch: Research Award Challenge—a live, Shark Tank–style forum where bold ideas compete for funding.

Applicants first submit an abstract based on completed or ongoing research for presentation at a Binaytara medical conference. Then, the first authors of accepted abstracts are invited to submit a separate research proposal for consideration for the research award funding. Only early-career faculty and fellows are eligible to compete for the research awards. The proposed research does not need to be related to the submitted abstract and may represent a new, forward-looking project aligned with the specific Research Award. Finalists present their proposals live at the Impact Pitch, where expert reviewers and audience voting help determine which projects receive funding.

How the Process Works

Step 1: Submit an Abstract

Submit an abstract describing completed or ongoing research for presentation at the relevant Binaytara scientific meeting. Only first authors of accepted abstracts are eligible for Research Award consideration.

Submit an Abstract

Step 2: Submit a Research Proposal

First authors of accepted abstracts are invited to submit a full research proposal. The proposed research may be entirely independent of the abstracted work.

Step 3: Impact Pitch: Research Award Challenge

Finalists present their proposals live to expert reviewers and a voting audience at the corresponding Binaytara conference.
