Biography

Shahid S. Ahmed, MBBS, is a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in genitourinary cancers. He is an attending physician at Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. Before joining Emory in 2024, Dr. Ahmed served as Assistant Professor and Director of the Genitourinary Cancer Program at the University of Vermont Medical Center, where he was part of the genitourinary and skin oncology care teams. He also served as core faculty for the hematology/oncology fellowship program, teaching and mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students. Dr. Ahmed earned his medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his internal medicine residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by a hematology and medical oncology fellowship at Indiana University, serving as Chief Fellow in his final year.
