Robert Yoo, DO

Biography

Robert Yoo, DO, is board certified in both medical oncology and hematology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. He joins Ironwood Cancer & Research with a clinical focus on thoracic and head & neck oncology. Before joining Ironwood, Dr. Yoo served as Director of the Brain and Spine Metastases Program at Barrow Neurological Institute, where he developed extensive expertise in managing central nervous system metastases across multiple tumor types, with a particular emphasis on leptomeningeal disease and spinal metastasis. He is also experienced in the use of novel bispecific cellular therapies, including step dosing and the management of cytokine release syndrome. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Yoo is deeply committed to academic medicine. He served as an Assistant Professor at Creighton University School of Medicine and the University of Arizona College of Medicine–Tucson, where he actively taught internal medicine residents with guidance in research and publications. Dr. Yoo earned his D.O degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Michigan State University and his fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Karmanos Cancer Institute at Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he served as chief fellow.
