Program Overview

This professional internship is a structured educational training program designed to provide recent college graduates with mentored exposure to institutional fundraising, proposal development, grants administration, and nonprofit development operations.

The internship emphasizes learning, skill development, and professional growth, supported by mentorship and guided participation in real-world projects. Interns participate as trainees for the primary purpose of gaining transferable knowledge and experience applicable to careers in nonprofit development and related fields.

This internship does not constitute employment with Binaytara and is not designed as a pathway to employment with the organization.

Learning Focus Areas

Through supervised, mentored participation, the intern will gain exposure to:

• Institutional fundraising strategies and grant making processes

• Proposal development and review

• Grants compliance, documentation, and reporting workflows

• Cross-team collaboration in a nonprofit environment

• Ethical and professional standards in fundraising and medical education support

Educational & Project-Based Activities

All activities are conducted with training, supervision, and review, and are designed to support learning objectives rather than independent operational responsibility.

  • Observe donor stewardship practices and relationship management processes

Conference & Continuing Medical Education (CME) Exposure (approximately 10% of time)

  • Observe how educational programming is developed and managed

Occasional evening and weekend travel, including overnight stays, may be required for on-site learning exposure.

Learning Progression & Skill Development

As the intern develops skills and understanding, responsibilities may evolve in complexity, always remaining supervised and instructional in nature. Increased exposure reflects learning progression and does not imply independent authority or staff-level responsibility.

The internship is designed to prepare participants for future careers in nonprofit development and related sectors broadly, not specifically for roles at Binaytara.

Qualifications

  • Recent college graduate (within two years of graduation preferred)
  • Strong interest in nonprofit development, philanthropy, healthcare, or medical education
  • Strong writing, research, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and ask questions in a learning-focused environment
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn complex processes
